Why JRD Roofline

A Roof Failure Shouldn’t Cost You a Working Day

When a commercial roof leaks, it isn’t just water damage: it’s stopped production, ruined stock, closed classrooms and cancelled bookings. Our commercial team plans every project around keeping your building open and your people working.

We started out as a domestic roofing firm in Leominster and grew into commercial and industrial work the honest way: existing customers asked us to look after their business premises too. That means you get a contractor big enough to re-sheet an industrial unit, but small enough that the person who quoted the job is the person on site.

  • Free site survey and written condition report before you commit to anything
  • Fixed-price quotations with a clear programme of works, with no open-ended day rates
  • Phased and out-of-hours working so trading, production or teaching can continue
  • The same small, experienced team from first survey through to final sign-off
  • IKO Approved Contractors, so manufacturer-backed guarantees are available on qualifying flat roof systems

What We Install

Commercial Roofing Systems We Work With

From full industrial re-roofs down to a single failed gutter joint, we specify the system that suits the building, the budget and the access, not whichever product we happen to have on the van.

Industrial Re-Roofing & Sheeting

Full strip-and-re-cover of warehouses, workshops, agricultural buildings and industrial units. Profiled metal sheeting, insulated composite panels and over-sheeting where a full strip isn’t practical, with fibre-cement and asbestos-containing sheets removed by licensed specialists.

Single Ply Membrane

Hot-air welded single ply systems for flat and low-pitch commercial roofs, mechanically fixed or adhered, laid to manufacturer specification over new insulation to meet current Building Regulations. Long service life, fast installation and minimal disruption below.

Liquid Applied Waterproofing

Cold-applied, seamless liquid systems that wrap around plant, pipework, upstands and complex detailing where sheet products struggle. No hot works, no naked flame, so they suit occupied buildings, plant rooms and roofs with awkward penetrations.

Built-Up Felt & Flat Roofing

High-performance torch-on and self-adhesive built-up systems for extensions, link corridors, canopies and flat-roofed commercial blocks. Correctly detailed falls, outlets and upstands so water leaves the roof instead of sitting on it.

Gutter Lining & Rainwater Goods

Leaking valley and box gutters lined in place with a seamless membrane, at a fraction of the cost and downtime of a full re-roof. We also replace commercial-grade fascias, downpipes and outlets, and clear blocked gutter runs.

Rooflights & Natural Lighting

Cracked, yellowed and brittle GRP rooflights replaced with modern multi-skin panels that are safer to work near, warmer in winter and a genuine cut in daytime lighting costs across a large-span roof.

Roof Surveys & Planned Maintenance

Photographed condition surveys with a costed repair schedule, so you can budget properly instead of reacting to the next storm. Annual and half-yearly maintenance visits keep gutters clear and small defects small.

Emergency & Storm Damage

Storm-damaged sheeting, lifted ridges and sudden leaks made safe and watertight quickly, with the photographs and written report your insurer will ask for before authorising a claim.

Commercial Solar

Large-format solar PV on warehouse, barn and office roofs, designed and fitted alongside the roof covering so the waterproofing, fixings and structural loading are right the first time. See our solar solutions.

Who We Work For

Buildings We Look After

Rural Herefordshire and the Marches are not all warehouses. Most weeks we are on a mix of the following.

Farms & Agricultural Buildings

Grain stores, livestock housing, machinery sheds and barns. Large spans, exposed sites and sheeting that has taken decades of weather, often combined with a solar install to put a big south-facing roof to work.

Industrial Units & Warehouses

Trading estates around Leominster, Hereford, Ludlow and Worcester. Re-sheeting, over-roofing, gutter lining and rooflight replacement, programmed around shifts and deliveries.

Shops, Pubs & Hospitality

Town-centre premises where the roof is often old, listed or both, and where closing for a week simply isn’t an option. Phased works, tidy sites and safe public access underneath.

Schools & Community Buildings

Village halls, churches, sports pavilions and school blocks. Flat roof replacement and leak investigation planned for holidays and out-of-hours where it keeps the building in use.

Offices & Commercial Landlords

Planned maintenance and condition surveys for managed portfolios, plus dilapidations and pre-purchase roof inspections written up in plain English with photographs.

Developers & Main Contractors

New-build housing, barn conversions and multi-plot schemes roofed to programme: slating, tiling, leadwork and flat roofing supplied and fitted by one team rather than four trades.

FAQs

Commercial Roofing Questions

Almost never. Most commercial re-roofs are phased in sections so only part of the building is affected at any one time, and each phase is left watertight at the end of the day. Where a section genuinely cannot be worked over while occupied, we programme it for evenings, weekends or shutdown periods. We agree all of this with you before work starts.

Usually, yes. Failed valley and box gutters are one of the most common causes of leaks in industrial buildings, and they can often be lined in place with a seamless membrane over the existing gutter. It is far quicker and far cheaper than a full re-roof, and it buys you years before larger works are needed.

Many older industrial and agricultural roofs are asbestos cement. We identify it at survey stage and arrange removal and disposal through a licensed asbestos contractor before our own works begin. We never disturb suspected asbestos sheeting ourselves, and the cost of removal is set out clearly in your quotation rather than sprung on you later.

Storm damage and active leaks are prioritised ahead of planned work. Call 07478 719475 and we will get to you as quickly as we safely can to make the roof secure, then follow up with photographs and a written report for your insurer.

Yes. Site-specific risk assessments and method statements, proof of public liability insurance and our access and working-at-height arrangements are supplied on request, and we are happy to complete your own contractor approval paperwork before we start.

We are based in Leominster and work throughout Herefordshire, South Shropshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and Powys, including Hereford, Ludlow, Bromyard, Ross-on-Wye, Worcester, Shrewsbury, Hay-on-Wye and the surrounding rural areas. See areas we cover for the full list.
